THE OLDER YOUTH GROUP WILL BE GOING TO THE 2009 YOUTH GATHERING IN NEW ORLEANS JULY 22-26!!
THE FOCUS WILL BE ON SERVICE AND JUSTICE AS WE LIVE OUR SHARED REALITY AS CHRISTIANS: MARKED WITH THE CROSS OF CHRIST FOREVER, WE ARE CLAIMED, GATHERED, AND SENT FOR THE SAKE OF THE WORLD.

Sunday School News
This Sunday School year we will be using Akaloo....Do you Akaloo? Sunday School is at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday. Experiencing God's forgiveness is our theme for this year.
The Children's Choir is back this year!! Our Sunday School Choir Director will be Erin Hub. We will be singing on Youth Sunday each month.
As part of our generational children's service, we have leaders and members from our many ministry teams come speak and make presentations, sharing details of their ministries. They explain the importance of God's Church in the world and how we are to carry on the many Lutheran traditions and pass on the faith to the children.
Emmanuel Hike '08 - Cunningham Falls State Park
Our first annual Emmanuel Hike took place at Cunningham Falls State Park. The day started with prayer and then we hiked 3/4 miles over to Cunningham Falls. Along the way, we talked about the parable of the sower. We took the lower trail back to the lake and swam until noon. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and closed in prayer. We had a great time!
Adventure Park USA '08 - The Sonshine Lions Youth Group went to Adventure Park USA in New Market on August 11th. The rollercoaster was AWESOME!! Everyone enjoyed Adventure Park and we might go back next year.
